On the surface, this is an interesting collection of short stories with the exact same protagonist (a sheriff), protagonist's friend (the barkeep), and the same general plot structure. the fun is in the reading I don't need to know everything before i start reading and I would think other heavy readers would feel somewhat the same. I'm not usually a fairy tale kind of reader, but I really enjoyed BEAST CHARMING. Oh yes, in the Kindle edition there are typos and grammatical errors. I especially enjoyed the introduction to all of the whacky characters illustrated portrait style in the front of the book. This is the second book from Mark Petry that I have read. What is the magic formula for turning a place into a high-tech capital. If they went too much in depth, they wouldn't hit a lot of other characters in the old and new testament. I don't want to give too much away, but for a book like this to be as realistic was it was, I was impressed with how Tawny Taylor went about it. This book is no exception. It tells you how to succeed while having fun, assuming that you like to work very hard and live wisely within your means. As a firm believer in the concept of true love and the adage that love conquers all, however, I do see these two characters marrying anyway and weathering the storm, retiring happily to the country to live their private lives.
