Recommended reading for anyone over 40, unless you absolutely hated Star Trek. It is difficult to appreciate the illustrations when they are so small. They have no sense of good or bad. I also thought this book lacked much of the warm and endearing aspects of his family that characterized the earlier four books. A portion of the last "part" was particularly difficult to read because of the topic (Christ's crucifixion); reading it through Beth Moore's perspective would bring tears to even the hardest of hearts. Little do they know that their lives are about to change drastically. Good stuff on outlaws (both sides) who take advantage of war to enrich themselves or take revenge. According to which, in the first of the four novellas collected here, Gass has re-imagined the philosophy of Decartes with God as a befuddled writer, his wife as Mind in the form of a modern-day Cassandra. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review. De Kruif writes in an upbeat style, like an advertisement. Now, again, it might get addressed in subsequent novels, like the Erevis Cale series, but it plays a large enough role in this book that we really should've had an answer. Missing important parts, 2. With this story you have two people who don't know each other so, it's not as believable that they could fall that fast within the time frame given.
