The event that made things happen between them at the end wasn't this big monstrous thing and I was grateful for that. He preaches about not being a self-help person who says to listen to him and only him. There were laugh out loud moments throughout this book and it was a joy to read. This is a fun story that follows the whirlwind romance between Addie and Chase. Yet there is still a very dark secret - the darkest secret that Jodie has to face. No manslaughter charges or even investigations besides a five minute talk with a single detective. It's quite a revelation to experience the consciousness of non-human life-forms.
