This book begins each section with lecture information, very concise and very easy to understand. The only part of the book I didn't like was Quinn. But it was the insistence on working Dawn into these early outings that became too much for me. Nilekani wreaks order onto the chaos in a comprehensible manner. It had a great story line that kept me wondering and anxious to get back to the book each day. Grassi identified the anopheles as the carrier of malaria. Spurling, George Floyd Taylor, Ambrose Jessup Tomlinson, Andrew David Ursham, and Maria Beulah Woodworth-Etter. All experiences are grouped by area and places are plotted on detailed maps for easy orientation. It is poetic writing, not in the modern abbreviated style, and well worth the little effort it takes to read and love.

It also will not provide the complicated history of Myanmar, formally Burma, as volumes have been written much better than I ever could.Myanmar is an unique country - the last frontier of Southeast Asia travel. Information is spotty, and constantly changing. Although the guidebooks and websites can provide practical information, they cannot come close to describing how it feels to travel through Myanmar at such an exciting time.
